Can I use ozonated olive oil on my face, and how often?+
Yes — the elixir was formulated for the face first. Use it morning and night on clean skin, two or three drops at a time. During a reset, with retinol and acids paused, it can be the whole evening step: oil, then cream. Once skin feels settled, keep it for nights off from actives and any morning skin feels tight.
Will it clog pores or feel greasy?+
It is non-comedogenic. The ozonated olive oil is carried in squalane and jojoba, light, dry-touch lipids close to skin's own sebum, and the blend absorbs quickly without leaving a film. If you have oily or congestion-prone skin, use two drops at night only and let the cream do the daytime work.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?+
It was formulated for skin that reacts: no added fragrance, no essential oils, no water, no acids or actives. Sensitive skin is still individual, so patch test on the inner forearm for a day or two first, and stop if anything stings or looks redder.
Why does it smell metallic?+
Ozonated olive oil has a scent of its own — people describe it as metallic, clean, or like the air after a storm. It comes from the ozonides formed when ozone bonds into the olive oil, and it is how you know an oil is genuinely ozonated. In the elixir the note is brief: it fades within a minute or two, and there is no added fragrance covering it.
Can I use it with retinol?+
Yes. On retinol nights, apply retinol to dry skin first, wait a few minutes, then press two or three drops of the oil over it so the lipids cushion the dryness. On nights off, oil then cream is the recovery step. If skin is actively peeling or stinging, pause the retinol for a few nights and use the oil alone until it settles.
Can I use it after a chemical peel or facial?+
Ask your provider first — every peel, laser and microneedling session has its own aftercare window, and their instructions override ours. Once they clear you for a plain moisturizer, the oil fits: no acids, no fragrance, no actives, only lipids. Until then, use only what they gave you.
How should I store it, and how long does it last?+
Capped, cool, and out of direct sun — a drawer or cabinet rather than a steamy bathroom shelf. It does not need the fridge. Use within 6 months of opening. At two or three drops a use, one 2 fl oz bottle is roughly 400 uses.
Why is it more expensive than other ozonated olive oils?+
Most ozonated olive oil is a thick, strongly scented paste sold by the tub, made for a body, not a face. The elixir is a different product: ozonated olive oil blended into squalane, jojoba, sunflower and rosehip so it is silky, non-comedogenic and fragrance free, physician formulated, and made in the USA in an NSF-certified facility from a pharmaceutical-grade oxygen source. Per use it comes to about 19 cents. If you want a paste for rough feet, buy the paste. If you want ozonated olive oil you will actually put on your face, this is it.
