What ozonated oil actually is
Ozone is oxygen in its most active form: three oxygen atoms (O₃) instead of two. When medical-grade O₃ is bubbled through a cold-pressed botanical oil, the oxygen bonds into the oil’s fatty acids and forms stable compounds called ozonides. The oil becomes an oxygen reservoir that releases oxygen slowly onto the skin. Ozonated oils have been used for skin comfort for over a century — OzoMD reformulates them to be light, fragrance-free, and pleasant for a daily routine.
Why oxygen suits a stressed barrier
Your skin barrier keeps water in and irritants out. Over-exfoliation, retinoids, acids, and aggressive treatments can wear that wall down — which is when skin stings, flushes, and flakes. Instead of asking already-stressed skin to process another active, OzoMD gives it two of the things it’s short on: lipids and oxygen. The Recovery Oil supplies both; the Protective Cream seals the surface so that comfort isn’t lost.
